A GSP is a gimbal mechanism operating in conjunction with an inertial navigation system (INS). The combined operation of the gimbal mechanism and the INS enables compensation of external (and internal) disturbances based on INS measurements (stabilization) and control of the payload attitude/pointing in the geographic coordinate system.
